I recently got back from a trip to Florida with my Mom, Stepdad, Brother, and my Mom’s side of the family. We went to Disney and Universal, and then headed out to the beach. This was not my first time to Florida or to Disney, but this was a first trip for this side of the family to do together. It was all to celebrate some important birthday’s for my Mom and Grandma this year.
The first part of the week we were in Orlando. It was very hot and humid, but it was very convenient to stay on Disney’s property. We stayed at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and so we could just take the bus to and from the parks except for the day we went to Universal. We spent our first day at Magic Kingdom, where I ran into my best friend and roomie this Fall while in a Fast Pass Line.
After a day at Magic Kingdom, we went to Universal where we explored some movies, but then went to London where we then hopped a train over to Hogwarts where we got some amazing frozen butter beer.
The next day we went to Hollywood Studios back within Disney. They had some amazing shows, and we got scared by some Storm Troopers. After a full day we went to a Luau in honor of the birthday’s at Disney’s Polynesian Resort. After some amazing food and a wonderful performance we got to sit on the “beach” and watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks from across the lagoon.
The next day before heading to the beach we decided to go and explore Disney Springs. It is basically a big shopping mall that has a huge Disney store! I ended up getting some minnie mouse earrings and some Disney cookie cutters!
After that we drove out to Cocoa Beach where we stayed at the Hilton Beachfront. It was very nice and had a restaurant right off of the pool and it had a bar on the way to the beach. The beach the next three days was our favorite, when it wasn’t raining part of the day. While in Cocoa Beach we explored the biggest Ron Jon surf shop and ate at Coconuts on the Beach and Old Fish House Restaurant. Then on the last day in order to waste some time before our flight we went to the Merritt Island Wildlife Reserve .
All in all Florida was warm, magical, and fun!
